Standby Power Supply

The Standby Power Supply (SPS) is equipped with the following features:
  • 1000VA – 90 second BBU for write cache
  • Backup for SPE and the DAE3P-OS
  • RS232 command/status interface
  • SPS Indicator LEDs

NOTE:
One 1000 watt SPS unit fits into 1U of cabinet space.
The following image shows the components of the SPS.
This is an image of a SPS.
  1. AC Power Input – Accepts power from an AC power source
  2. Power Switch – Determines whether the SPS is distributing power to the xPE power supply
  3. DPE AC Power Output – Provides power to an xPE power supply
  4. Unused
  5. Monitoring Port – Provides information about the status of the SPS to the xPE storage processor
  6. LEDs (top to bottom):

    1. Power LED – Green when the SPS is active and fully charged and flashing green when the SPS battery is being charged.
    2. On Battery LED – Amber when the SPS battery is providing the power to the xPE power supply
    3. Battery Discharged LED – Amber when the SPS battery is discharged
    4. Fault LED – Amber when a fault is detected on the SPS
